The new year is up and going! So much teaching, learning, assessment and social skills are happening. Attendance is a big focus for the school year. Avoiding absences, tardiness and leaving school early all play a part in your child's success. Students miss learning opportunities even with excused absences.(cont'd)

Attendance Boundary Meeting Dates

With the reconstruction and opening of Madison School in September 2019, and the closing of Lincoln School as an elementary school at that same time, the Mount Vernon School District has been developing new attendance area boundaries which will go into effect for next school year. These boundaries determine which school students will attend based upon home address. Options for new boundaries have continued to be developed. We are scheduling meetings in March to share these updated options and collect parent input.

Students in each grade level get one month throughout the year to invite a VIP to have breakfast at school with them.  The emphasis is on reading but the morning is very informal. JES cafeteria - 8:05-8:25 AM

March - 5th grade  (3/12/19)

May - Kinders (5/08/19)
