About Jefferson Elementary

Jefferson Elementary was built in 1956 and remodeled in 1996. It is the southernmost school site in the Mount Vernon School District, serving students from Transitional Kindergarten through fifth grade.

Jefferson is home to two MVSD magnet programs: QUEST, for students with special behavioral needs, and Voyager, for students identified as highly capable.

Our school greenhouse is a centerpiece of our school culture — accessible to all students through STEM and a range of after-school clubs. Our library extends teacher and student work by integrating technology across the curriculum.

We take pride in our students and hold every one of them to high academic and behavioral expectations.
